What are your working hours? Who do I contact after hours?
• Office hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
• Quote requests: 08:00 to 17:00

When does the rental period begin and end?
The rental period begins when the equipment leaves the rental premises and ends when it is returned to the rental premises.

What happens if an item of equipment gets damaged, lost or stolen?
Glow office must be notified immediately so that we may take appropriate measures and guide you if necessary through your responsibility in the matter.

What about insurance?

  1. Gear Protection Fee

The Gear Protection Fee is charged at 10% (TEN PERCENT) of the daily rate excluding VAT. Equipment is insured for rental in the Republic of South Africa only and additional insurance is required for shooting outside the Republic, which the client will need to obtain. Proof of additional insurance obtained by the client will need to be shown to the company.

The lessee will be held responsible for ALL excess payable, which is a minimum of R5000 or 10% of claim value. In addition you will be liable for any outsourced supplier’s insurance client terms and excess for any equipment that we have had to outsource for your order.

What is the charge for late returns?
Late returns are charged at the full rental fee.

Do you charge for cancellations?
Yes, if the shoot is cancelled within 24 hours of the shoot date.

Do you have assistants?
We can recommend and connect you with assistants. However Glow does not manage the recommended assistants and will not be held liable for the availability and any work related issues of any assistants.

What equipment do you stock?
Profoto Location and Studio flash equipment, Canon, Nikon – if you do require specific equipment we are able to source the request given enough time.

What are the payment terms?
All first time clients are cash on collection. Preferably EFT before shoot date.

What is the charge for down days and travel days?
Down days and travel days are charged at 50% for the rental fee.

Where is Glow based?
Glow is based in Illovo, Johannesburg: Unit 0007A Oxford Manor, Cnr Oxford & Chaplin Road.

How big is the studio?
The Illovo Studio is 120sq.m with a 7m white infinity curve. The Parkwood Studio is 125sq.m with a 7m white infinity curve.
